Our Story
Inspired by God, the mission of Simor is to uplift the lives of the humble weavers of Albay.
Its founder, Ricardo F. Sison, believes that “God’s hand is in control” since the
beginning of the company’s journey to showcase the intrinsic beauty of the
Abaca to the world.
He sought the approval of his father, Carlos Moran Sison, who supported his
dream and initially funded the Abaca manufacturing and exporting company.
In March 1977, Simor was formally established.
The company, now in its third generation of management, takes pride in its Abaca products, each masterfully handwoven as one-of-a-kind wallcoverings, window shades, rugs, and interior embellishments.
Skillfully and patiently crafted by the hands of the less fortunate, Simor’s
products find its way into luxurious penthouses in New York City, casinos in Las
Vegas, shopping centers in California, and homes and offices in the United
States and the United Kingdom.
Valued for the products’ uniqueness, beauty, eco-friendliness, and Simor’s
heartfelt mission to help the necessitous, the Abaca products are sought after
by renowned interior designers commissioned by an affluent clientele.
Simor’s story is “proof that God works with people, in people, through people,
and for people whose hearts are not only for themselves but also for others.”
